World's Ugliest Handheld

In what can only be described as the world's ugliest handheld, a company called Vias has released what they describe "as the world's first handheld gaming device based on the x86 architecture, the Eve Mobile Gaming Console is said to be capable of instantly running thousands of existing PC games."

The lame part is threefold. Number One, the screen is not foldable. It's always gonna be in that L shape. Number 2, it won't be able to run today's games, much less than tommorows blockbusters. Check the system stats below. Number 3, it's just plain ugly. Let's hope a re-design is in the works for this ugly duckling.

Via claims that Eve's rich digital media entertainment playback capabilities provide the highest performance and the most feature-rich mobile gaming console on the market. Additionally, integrated wireless connectivity and hardware security enable the device to provide a secure platform for users to play online games and download content, Via says.

Eve's embedded computer is built around a 533MHz Via Eden-N processor (which supports SSE and MMX) equipped with 128MB DDR266 SDRAM, and a 20GB hard drive. A built-in 4-inch LCD screen supports resolutions up to 640 x 480 pixels. An integrated S3 Graphics UniChrome Pro IGP graphics engine handles pixel rates of up to 200 million pixels per second for enhanced 2D/3D graphics performance, and supports Z-bias, anti-aliasing, alpha blending, Microsoft DirectX 7/8/9, and OpenGL.
