Creative Ads Meant to Sell Games

It takes a lot to get our attention these days. When we watch TV or read a magazine or newspaper we tend to skip over the advertising. This is why advertisers need to get creative. They need to catch our attention with something risque or non-mainstream.

I think some of the PS2 ads do this quite well. In fact in some of the images you are about to see you will understand what I mean. The imagery is as subtle as the message behind it.

Be warned though, some of these images can be a little disturbing. Of course if you're a gamer not much disturbs you anymore ;)

I'm going to present these in no particular order, but it's worth mentioning that one has won an award for it's creativity.

First, take a look at these two:

They have the same message (use it or lose it). The chicken one is kinda disturbing. Why is that? What does it bother people more to see a chicken with it's head cut off than a human being? It must be the presence of blood I guess, but again, to a gamer that shouldn't be disturbing.

Along the same message as those is this interesting ad:

Not much to say here as the image speaks for itself.

In my next post I'll display more PS2 ads including some pretty wierd ones.
