Micro$oft wants to rule the world

But what else is new?
They already own the desktop space and are making waves in search as well as online applications, so why not go after the console market.
Sure the Xbox is a good console, as is the 360 but now there are rumors that M$ wants a handheld as well??
Yes we've heard these rumors before, and this time the source may be no better, but if you believe the Inquirer's recent entry then you will believe that M$ really does have an agenda for a portable Xbox.
According to the article, M$ has tasked 30 Transmeta engineers as well as 1/2 of the current Xbox staff to work on the portable unit.
But wait there's more...
In what's likely an effort to keep sales up during the release of the Wii and PS3, another rumor has it that the 360 will go through a price adjustment near Christmas.
If true the planned price drop will actually put the more established 360 near the same price point as the untested Wii. Of course such a price drop doesn't do Sony any favors either.
I guess one way M$ will offset any losses on the 360 this Christmas will be by releasing some Xbox Live Arcade games for sale. That's right, M$ is going retro with a few games by trying to montize them.
But all this might be moot considering the 17 Mistakes M$ made in the console's security system.
Some of the exploits found include a vulnerability in the boot process, unsecure games and font code which isn't verified could be used to exploit the console.
So before you start saving for your very own 360 this Christmas consider what you've just read.
