360 Platinum set to launch

First let me apologize for not posting lately - between trying to get caught up from a few days away and various computer problems I've been swamped.

But now that things are back to normal let's get to it.

M$ has announced a new program called Xbox Platinum which is actually going to be a re-release of popular titles in a budget line.

There will only be 4 titles to start: Perfect Dark Zero, Project Gotham Racing 3, Kameo: Elements of Power and Need for Speed Most Wanted, and M$ plans to sell these at a much lower price than before.

Xbox 360 Platinum Hits titles will retail for $29.99. Microsoft said that this is just the first wave of games, and the second is to hit in spring 2007.

Sales should begin around Mid-October.

Hey man wait. I saw A Microsoft clarification that it only Upscaled regular DVD's and HD-DVD's not at 1080p. But I will allow games to be 1080p native. The extra feature is upscaling regular DVD's. That is something PS3 can't do. So Ken is right but purposely misleading. He is talking about REGULAR DVDs while hoping that you think that applies to everything.

Thanks for the update indy!

That is interesting news and of course you'd expect the competition to downplay the updates. Great catch though!
