What's more fun? The Wii or PS3? What does Sony think?

The answer may surprise you.
Nic Foster, general manager for Sony Australia & New Zealand is quoted in The Syndey Morning Herald is quoted as saying:
"Wii is a core gaming device. It's a more fun, intuitive sort of product to pick up."
Oh really, Nic? So what else does he think?
"the PS3 is a broader entertainment solution; so you can have your fun, enjoyable gaming ... but then you have a whole suite of other applications."
Hmm. So you pay under $300 for a "fun" gaming device or almost a G note for somethat that is a "whole suite of other applications."
Well, let's see - what else does it offer? Blu-ray? No thanks, I see another betamax happening. Interaction with the PSP? Nice....if I had one. Movies, music and pictures? Got a computer for that already.
So you tell me what makes the PS3 worth the cost? And why would I want it over a Wii?

Cmon man its obvious, its the games - i think what he was trying to say but failed, is that the wii is a more lighter form of entertainment and isnt as serious in some respects as the ps3...
wouldnt you agree?
Well I agree that the Wii is a lighter duty console, but I think it is more fun. Granted it's probably ultimately geared to a different audience - it's not a hard core gamers console, but in the end it reaches more people.
So in that sense, I think the Wii is superior.
