The Dreamcast Lives?

It appears so.
Some diehard 'Casters are keeping the console alive through many ways. But would you believe there are still some games being released for the DC?
It's true - 2007 will see the release of at least 3 games for the defunct console.
I can't say I'm disappointed. I still have 2 of these consoles and I still prefer their games over the PS2/3 and Xbox. In fact I just bought my second Dreamcast on Ebay since the first one recently died. Got a good deal too. $40 for the console, 2 controllers, a bunch of memory cards and 5 games.
Sure the other guy was probably cleaning house, but I have over 200 games and I don't want to scrap them.

This is pretty amazing, considering the Dreamcast has not been manufactured since March(?) 2001. I think the Atari Lynx had new games released after it was yanked from the market, but I can't think of any other consoles or handhelds that have had the same following. Although, the N64 still has a thriving market for secondhand games.
I have long considered purchasing a DC, if only to finally play that limited edition of Christmas Nights into Dreams that I have stashed away somewhere. And I always wanted to try Shenmue.
As for scrapping games, I completely understand where you are coming from. It usually works out that once you put the game away, it stays put away, and I miss playing some old favourites. However, there have been some fine titles that have come out recently that I would have missed if I had stayed with the old systems. Don't get me wrong; newer doesn't mean better. But just make sure that you aren't missing out just because of your investment in your older collection.
Perhaps the solution is a DC-only room, and then put the flavour-of-the-month console into your living room. :)
Hmmm... I incorrectly stated that "Nights" was published for the DC, when it was, in fact, published for the Saturn.
