PS3 supply to meet demand by May, or will it?

Sony Computer Entertainment America chief Jack Tretton is being quoted as saying: "April or May is when we feel like we're going to catch up to demand and have product fully in stock across North America and stay there."

Now some would argue that in fact Sony won't be producing more PS3s by May. The demand is in fact dropping.

I don't know if I agree with that. Sure demand may be stagnant for the PS3. After all both the Wii and the 360 are much less expensive. And of course the 360 has many more playable game titles than both the Wii and PS3.

But is that grounds for making such statements? I don't think so.

wireless NES controller mod for Wii, power consumption reports and more

There were a few interesting articles put out in the past couple weeks highlighting the Wii so we thought we'd share them here.

First is this wireless hack for for SNES and NES Controllers to help make them Wii wireless compatible.

It looks pretty straightforward with some off-the-shelf components.

And when you're done you end up with something like this:

wireless NES controller

But wait, there's more...

USB Wiimote Charger - Good for the Environment AND your Wii!

Gee time sure flies. I can't believe it's been a week since I posted last. Yikes!

But I guess it's worth the wait because we have something new to talk about.

It's a Wiimote USB charger.

And, while you may be able to find out more on the product page, unless you speak Japanese we don't think so.

But check out the page anyways. It looks pretty straight forward. Insert the included rechargable batteries, plug in the charging base to a spare USB port and voila! instand rechargable Wiimote. Not bad for $30 per 'mote.

Some Good 360 News

Who says Microsoft doesn't listen to its customers.

According to this forum post the newer 360's are now coming with quieter DVD drives.

This because many users were complaining that the old drives were too loud.

According to a post in the forum "the BenQ VAD6038 runs super-quiet compared to the TS and HLG drives and even loads stuff a bit faster and smoother."

So I guess if you were thinking of getting an Xbox but were put off by the noise complaints, perhaps now is the time to get one.

No word on if M$ would recall currently owned consoles to replace the louder drives.

Wii on a PC?

Some people just have too much time on their hands...

Over on the WiiLi forums there is a thread discussing how one of the members created a Wii like interface, from scratch, for his PC.

He even shared some YouTube proof via a couple videos.

What is interesting is that the guy says "i dont have a wii, nor did i use one to make this." Hmm how did he do that?

Well apparently he watched a few vids on YouTube and other places and then built it from scratch using various programming tools.

Talk about a Wii wannabe :)
