Console News Roundup

It's been an interesting week. In fact there is some news relating to 4 consoles as opposed to the usual 3.

So first lets talk about the Xbox. According to the Xbox Website there have been some significant updates to the Xbox warranty. Here's what's new:

• Free shipping and free postage paid container
• If your box is still under warranty, they will extend your coverage 90 days or the duration of the warranty (whichever is longer)
• If your box is out of warranty, they'll give you an entire year of coverage starting from when you get your console back
• Microsoft will try and give you your original console back
• They'll try and get all repairs done and back to you within five days

But Xbox wasn't the only one creating news:

Gizmondo told us of a mouse for the PS3. This mouse eplaces the right hand side of the PS3's joypad. Might be handy for when you need finer control.

Now, you know a console is big when Reuters reports about it. And they are reporting on how the expected battle between the 360 and PS3 was actually won by the Wii.

Now I don't agree with this. Sure the Wii has had some impressive sales numbers but you are comparing apples to oranges when you try to compare the Wii to the 360 or PS3. It's not the hard core gaming console that the 360 and PS3 are.

The fourth console to make news is the Dreamcast.

Still, this is one of my favorite consoles. And while Sega has decided to officially stop repairing the console we do see other fans keeping the Dream alive.

Sites like this one promoting DC Emulation. This emu sounds like it more better resembles an actual DC which is great for all of us who have tons of games and failing consoles.
