Better late than never. e3 was about 2 months ago but we found this email link from one of our readers. It's basically a link to an e3 photo cloud over at Flickr. It's pretty sweet and will give you a good idea of what went on at this year's convention every thing from the latest Xbox 360 and DS shots to all the hawt booth babes. Check out the flickr e3 tag cloud.
And check out these Hawt Booth Babes!

So all the talk of E3 seems to have been about the Wii. At least in terms of consoles.
Sure Sony announced similar controllers to the motion sensitive Wii controllers but that's about it.
Anyways, this looks like a new site and they have some pretty good discussion about the Wii and the impact it should have on the world when it's released.

I came across a couple entries from a couple different sites that I thought I'd share.
first are some shots fo the Wii's "Virtual Console". For those who may be unaware the console allows for Wii owners to download and play classic Nintendo games.
Also from E3 is Kotaku's "Wii Hands-On Impressions" where they share their first thoughts of the new console . It sounds like the new console does well despite concerns over how the controls would work. In fact it sounds like the controllers performed very well, in their opinion.

At E3 we've learned that Sony surprised most people in the audience by unveiling that the PS3 will have motion sensitive controllers.
This is interesting considering that Nintendo has been touting it's new motion sensitive controllers for some time now.
But it gets even better.
Not only did Sony announce that the controllers would be motion sensitive, but they also had working demos!
I guess this is why they announced recently that the new controllers won't support Dual Shock.

Today I attended the hilarious Burnie Burns Keynote. Burnie Burns is the head of Rooster Teeth Productions. He used slides, videos and audio to talk about what's comjing down the pipe as far as Creating Content Online.
He described it as "The Coming War", menaing that it's not looking good for the average user like you and I. Some of these probelms include who owns what? What wires does the Phone Network (AT&T) own versus what does the Cable Network own? Why does AT&T think they can charge Google for using their network? Eventually you may have to pay to download and upload on the Net as a Content Provider. How will this effect Content Providers?
His next issue was Film/TV vs. Internet. Now that viewership of Film/TV is down due to the Internet how is the Film network going to strike back against losing viewers? The Network's Strategy is Content, Content, Content. If something sticks they play it to death. What's next?
He ended the subject by saying that people need to remain independent in today's changing enviroment to be successfull. That staying independent can, and will, work if you make it work.

Just got out a good little panel called "Convergance and Advertising". One of the speakers was from Wild Tanget and gave a good talk about all the ways advertising was creeping into Video Games. The best part is that he was so excited about this! For those of you that don't remember Wild Tanget used to be known as one of the big spyware companies that was always infecting your Mom's computer when she downloaded on of their cutesy Java Games or a Teddy Bear Screensaver. Now they have grown up and produce Video games that feature in game Billboards from Sony and product placement of Honda Accords. Such a radical departure huh? Some of the other interesting facts are that the main Video Game ads the industry is working on are
- Around Game Ads (Traditional Banner Ads)
- In Game Ads (Billboards inside the Game World)
- Product Placement (Such as only racing Honda Cars in Game)
- And ads on the Loading Screen of Games (Usually 300X225 Flash Commercials)
Quite eye opening isn't it? They also went on to say that through their research they think people want McDonalds Fast Food gaming rather than traditional 15 plus hour games. Is this true? Does this model work for you?

Red vs. Blue Coming to a Close?
Just got out of a great presentation from the guys from Red vs. Blue (a.k.a Rooster Teeth Productions). They mostly spoke off the cuff about what they actually do for a living and why Red vs. Blue became so popular. They dropped some really great stats as well. They have over 1 million downloads a week for new episodes which is almost a point in TV terms. They have over 400,000 registered users who browse and post on their sites on a weekly basis. The average age of those people is 14-22. (Advertising Gold!) They even joked about people who were pirating their DVD's at the last Comic Convention they went to. They weren't specific about financial numbers but they make enough to support 5 guys working 40-50 hours a week. Pretty sweet. They also spoke about the difference between the games they work with. M$ came to them after they started and said "We Like It, just don't fuck with our Intellectual Property", EA approached them and said "Use our stuff for free dudes" while the Panics folks (F.E.A.R) paid them to promote their game.
The Big revelation? They have an exit Strategy and there is life after Red vs. Blue and The SIMS 2. In fact they talk about ending the series at least once a week. And that the rumor around is that Season 5 may be there last.....stay tuned for more....
