25 years of "exergaming"

Boingboing has an excellent summary on 25 years of "exergaming."

from the Atari Joyboard released way back in 1982:

atari joyboard

to the recently released Wii Fit:

Wii Fit

And everything in between.

Now, we at CC remember a lot of these, from the Power Pad for the Nintendo, and the very cool Power Glove, also for the NES.

End end of the Gizmondo saga?

We've been watching this story since in first broke in 2003 with the crash of a Ferrari. Shortly after that, former Gizmondo exec Stefan Eriksson got arrested for grand theft and his wife got busted for driving without a license.

A year late Eriksson appeared in court and plead not guilty and, despite being considered a flight risk was set free on bail.

But wait, there is more to the story...

We Are Back!

Yes it is true that we made it back from our "top secret" mission.

And while we can't tell you where we've been just be sure to check back because as soon as that NDA runs out we'll be reporting a whole bunch of stuff.

In the mean time be sure to check back for other more regular news!

What do you bring?

Now that the summer holidays are upon us I decided to ask a question.

When you go on holidays do you bring any of your gaming consoles with you? IE if you go camping, or stay in a hotel, or just rough it out in the woods with only a tent, do you bring anything to entertain yourself?

Personally we have a summer cabin so we have an old dreamcast hooked up to an even older TV for those rainy days.

Of course for the trip out there the DS and Gameboy come in handy, or for when you just don't want to get out of the lawn chair.

Finally got a Wii

Yes it is true I got a Wii on the weekend. And it wasn't that hard after all.

I didn't stand in line for more than 10 minutes. In fact I was home in less than an hour after leaving.

I just went to my local Toys 'R' Us because I knew they were getting a big shipment, and waited in a short line to get my hands on one.

Sure there were those who waited outside in the cold for hours just to get a ticket to ensure they got one, but they had more than enough consoles for everyone who got there right around opening.

In fact, When I left there were about 3 more left, but I saw people rushing in as I was leaving so I don't think they would have lasted that long.

Top Games of the 90's

At least according to this site.

That's right, they decided on what they felt were the best games of the 90's. No surprise that the original NES seems to top the list, plus own most of it.

M$ to Buy Sony??

Is it possible? Would Microsoft buy Sony?

Well according to this article not only is it possible, it is plausible.

Now I don't really know what the going rate is for Sony these days but Microsoft does have some deep pockets. But even I don't think M$ could afford the current valuation of just over $47 billion.

But it is an intriguing question. After all it would give M$ a foothold in the consumer product market that they don't have now (aside from the Xbox).

And imagine what a360/PS3 console would be like? Play every game ever released for Playstation (1,2 and 3) as well as all Xbox games (version 1 and 360).

Things that make you go hmmmmm.

And the hits keep on coming...

Poor Stefan.

First, he pulverizes his priceless Ferarri.

Then his wife gets busted driving another expensive car without a license.

Now it appears that Mr. Eriksson has been arrested for grand theft!

That's right, apparently all his cars, including the Enzo and the Mercedes were actually owned by unnamed British financial institutions. It sounds like they didn't know that he had brought them to the US when he moved.

Just gotta wonder how much more this guy can take before he decides to eat a bullet?

Stefan looses a little more manhood

To me, owning a super sleek super fast car indicates that the owner must be trying to compensate for something.

So when you first manage to annihilate a priceless Ferarri your ego has to take a hit.

So it's really gotta hurt when the government takes away another of your babies. But that's what happened recently to Stefan Eriksson, former Gizmondo executive.

You see, 90210 PD impounded a very expensive Mercedes SLR McLaren owned by Eriksson because, get this, it wasn’t registered in the U.S. AND Eriksson's wife was caught driving it without a license.

Life sucks, eh Stefan?

What do you get when your handheld goes bankrupt?

Well, if you're bigwig Stefan Ericksson from Gizmondo and you own a rare Ferarri that you can't control you get this:

What's more amazing is that he walked away with a cut lip. Guess he still has to put up with bankruptcy after all.
