Sony has begun rolling out the latest PS3 update. Gizmodo even has some screenshots already. So what's all the hype with this new update anyways?
Well M$ began cracking down on modded Xbox 360's again. We have multiple reports that the big M has begun cracking down on modded Xbox 360's and disallows them from the Xbox Live service.
What's interesting is that only the console is removed, not the user account which means the user can still access Live from an unmodified console should they wish to do so.
In other news, we've been bringing you parts of a series on turning a 360 into a laptop complete with screen and keyboard. Now we can bring you Part 3 - the final installment which shows how to install the LCD screen, putting everything into the case, modding the keyboard and attaching all latches and USB ports
So, if you've been banned from Live and are tired of M$'s attempts to smother your creative freedom, perhaps you should attempt the ultimate Xbox mod and turn your 360 into a laptop? :)

We first brought you mention of a 360 laptop here with a link to instructions. And since then others have come out with similar mods.
For example, Engadget has a very thorough instruction list on building your own Xbox 360 laptop.

I've been finding that my site is getting a lot of questions. When I review my website stats I often see questions like "Where to buy a Wii?" or "What is the PSP resolution?" This one recently showed up so I thought I'd answer it.

A couple Wii stories for you today.
Apparently it is possible to lose weight while playing your Wii. I know I forgot a cardinal rule when playing it for the first time - if you don't stretch you'll pay for it later. My first game of baseball taught me that.
But this guy went a few steps further. He actually built in Wii play for 30 minutes a day as part of his daily activities. And guess what? Over a period of about 6 weeks he lost weight!
Now you may say to yourself, bah humbug! But it's true. He even graphed his progress

If you are like me you are watching with eager eyes how the Wii release will play out.
That's because Nintendo is gambling it's future in a sense. Rather than taking the "more processing power = better graphics" road that Microsoft and Sony have taken with their new consoles, Nintendo has opted to release a console with less power, and significantly weaker graphics.
However Nintendo is also going after a different market - people on a budget. And my feeling is that this strategy will work out fine for them. Especially when there are reports that Nintendo will spend more on advertising for the Wii launch than any other console they've released.
My suggestion to you is, if you haven't pre-ordered you better do it fast cause I have a feeling that these are going to be the hottest selling consoles in a long while.
In other Wii news, the console hasn't even hit the market yet someone somewhere has managed to get their hands on the now famous nunchuk controller and ripped it apart. You can find complete details with pics here.

Yes you read right.
Some enterprising individual has completed the ultimate mod - he's modded his Xbox 360 into a laptop. Well not any old Windows laptop but one that still functions as a 360. Guess you could call it a portable 360??
It still have all the same connectors to go out to your video source but it also includes an LCD screen and keyboard. Best of all it's less than 3 inches thick!
Here is page 1 of the journey. Be sure to follow all the links through to Page 5 - the finished product!

There's been so much hype these days about the Wii that it's refreshing to see some "old school" console modding still happening.
It shows you how to add LEDs to your NES controllers so that when you press a button the LED lights up. It's a really simple mod, and if you aren't afraid of soldering it's quite easy.
Why would you want to do it? I dunno, cause you're bored and wanna see pretty lights on your NES??
And if you are into modding your NES, why not check out Make Blog's list of 10 NES controller mods.

It was just a few days ago when we told you of the 360 camera.
This is a new device which can be added to your Xbox 360 to allow for a multitude of things including video communictions. Since then there have been many more articles hitting the web explaining what else the new camera can be used for.
One of the coolest features is facial mapping technology which will allow you to take various shots of your face and then insert them into a game, replacing the characters face.
Pretty soon not only will your face be in the game, but with the advent of motion sensing controllers, you will be able to watch yourself die onscreen because you didn't run fast enough or wave your arms around enough to save yourself.
What kinda damage is that going to do to your psyche?

Yes you read write. I know the saying is "for the masses" but this one truly is "for the massive."
I really don't know where some people come up with their ideas, but some of them are pretty cool, even if impractical.
Take this one for example: It's a portable console made out of Gamecube:
