MTV Multiplayer recently reported thatconnectivity between the 360 and DS almost happened with Viva Pinata.
The question was posed to Justin Cook, designer of the game and he said:
"We got it to work, but it was too late in the development cycle,"
So it was too late for the latest version of the game. But what of future version?
And could other games also use similar technology?
This would be a boon for Microsoft if more of their family games interacted with the handhelds of their competitors.
That's right looks like the nerds over at the Xbox 360 Forums have torn apart their Xbox's to discover that it has some new innards that are supposed to
"The guys over at the Xbox official forums have noticed that the Halo edition 360s may just be the Falcons we've all dreamed about. The Falcon Xbox 360, by the way, has a 65nm CPU and is supposed to run cooler and, ideally, not die after three days, which is a nice change"
lol. Wake me up when people find the chip that tells Micro$oft whatever you watching on TV even when the Xbox is off.....

Looks like XBOX Live is banning user names that contain LINUX or UNIX in the names! Check the user name conspiracy out here.
Other bloggers are reporting that variants of 'Unix' also result in the message: 'Your motto contains inappropriate language. Please try again.'"

I recently got a Nintendo DS, so I've been doing some research on it (thanks to Portable Gaming World for all the great info!). There's really a lot of great applications available now, and even more in the future, including the recently released web browser.
But in addition to the cool DS features, we've already heard how Nintendo will be building in cross functionality between the DS and Wii so that they can perhaps share games (as with the forthcoming Sims). But I can see a lot more potential here.
Well M$ began cracking down on modded Xbox 360's again. We have multiple reports that the big M has begun cracking down on modded Xbox 360's and disallows them from the Xbox Live service.
What's interesting is that only the console is removed, not the user account which means the user can still access Live from an unmodified console should they wish to do so.
In other news, we've been bringing you parts of a series on turning a 360 into a laptop complete with screen and keyboard. Now we can bring you Part 3 - the final installment which shows how to install the LCD screen, putting everything into the case, modding the keyboard and attaching all latches and USB ports
So, if you've been banned from Live and are tired of M$'s attempts to smother your creative freedom, perhaps you should attempt the ultimate Xbox mod and turn your 360 into a laptop? :)

We first brought you mention of a 360 laptop here with a link to instructions. And since then others have come out with similar mods.
For example, Engadget has a very thorough instruction list on building your own Xbox 360 laptop.
Normally spring is reserved for that all-time favorite activity called "Spring Cleaning."
This is when you go through your basement/attic/garage or any other place you have stuff stashed. It is also the time you say "I wondered where that went" or "I was looking for this" lots. It is also the time you should say "well I haven't used that in a year and I didn't miss it therefore I'm going to get rid of it.
Sadly we don't do enough of that. Further, it doesn't help when console and 3rd party manufacturers continue to make Goodies we can't do without. And this spring is no exception.
That's because we are seeing 2 "must have" goodies this spring. One for the 360 and one for the Wii.
First, the Wii accessory harkens back to the days of the classic NES, with a Star Trek inspired update.

After weeks of speculation and rumors Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox 360 Elite will be making its debut at the end of April this year for $479. We have lots of coverage, but first a picture:

We were going to report that another Xbox exploit had been discovered and used.
Xbox Scene had the goods on some homebrew that was running on a 360.
But just today we've learned that M$ has patched this and other exploits.
But I'm sure it won't be the last exploit. It's funny how they can patch the 360 so fast yet Windows can go for months without a security update. Now I know they push patches on a regular basis but there are exploits on Windows which have existed for some time before patched.
In other news, we've learned that M$ is going to offer a 512 memory card for the 360. So for all you playa's who thought they'd be smart and save some cash by buying the 360 core and found out you couldn't save games, well here's your fix.
For a mere $50 you can buy a 512 meg flash card to save your game files to. Now I know it's not a 20 gig drive but hey, it's half the cost of your savings!! :)

Who says Microsoft doesn't listen to its customers.
According to this forum post the newer 360's are now coming with quieter DVD drives.
This because many users were complaining that the old drives were too loud.
According to a post in the forum "the BenQ VAD6038 runs super-quiet compared to the TS and HLG drives and even loads stuff a bit faster and smoother."
So I guess if you were thinking of getting an Xbox but were put off by the noise complaints, perhaps now is the time to get one.
No word on if M$ would recall currently owned consoles to replace the louder drives.
